Even with system messages and the other upgrades, however, OpenAI acknowledges that GPT-4 is far from perfect. It still “hallucinates” facts and makes reasoning errors, sometimes with great confidence. In one example cited by OpenAI, GPT-4 described Elvis Presley as the “son of an actor” — an obvious misstep.

But that can mean that it makes up information when it doesn’t know the exact answer – an issue known as “hallucination” – or that it provides upsetting or abusive responses when given the wrong prompts. ChatGPT-4 can be used in a variety of applications, such as chatbots, virtual assistants, customer service automation, language translation, and content creation. Its ability to understand and respond to natural language makes it a powerful tool for improving communication and automating tasks that would otherwise require human intervention. Whereas, the older GPT-3.5-turbo model is 15x cheaper ($0.002 per 1K tokens) than GPT-4. Technology that functions in any language

Its release in November 2022 sparked a tornado of chatter about the capabilities of AI to supercharge workflows. Nevertheless, it’s essential to be aware that ChatGPT-4 still faces certain limitations that OpenAI is diligently addressing. These limitations include issues related to dependability, lack of real-time knowledge updates, and challenges in understanding context.

This staggering increase results in higher accuracy and precision of the output it produces, making it ideal when it comes to handling more complex tasks and generating highly accurate outputs. GPT-4 is the next version of OpenAI’s Large Language Model (LLM), and it should be significantly more powerful than GPT-3.5. We haven’t tried out GPT-4 in ChatGPT Plus yet ourselves, but it’s bound to be more impressive, building on the success of ChatGPT.
